just wondering...could a ranger with an ebon bow run an ebon dust aura build? cant remember if this is true but someone said there is a GWEN skill that makes all damage earth based or something? if this is true and not an elite could you use this for mass blind combined with barrage...or use volley I believe with ebon dust aura?

not online atm so cant find out for myself and wondered could you use this for the majority of GoM HM before shiro i hasten! to speed up / make this mission easier?

Well technically if you have a Ebon Bow String your damage is going to be Earth based anyway ^^ Ebon Dust Aura will only work if you deal earth damage so its pretty much needed.

It is an elite however and not usuable with Barrage, it IS usuable with volley however

EDA / Volley is much better for PVE than the pvx build. Mobs clump nicely and it allows you to blind upto 4 at a time for 2e.

My normal ranger bar at the moment is EDA / Volley / Called Shot / DShot / Savage / Mystic Regen / Conviction / Res using a +5e Ebon Recurve bow of Enchanting

Im already specced in earth for EDA so Mystic Regen gives +3 per enchantment and i'm always enchanted with EDA so I get +6 regen for 20 secs.

It also means I don't have to spec into WS and gives me a cover enchant for EDA (though I could easily drop marks low since its pretty much irrelevant in this build and spec WS aswell)

Conviction is there for the +regen when not enchanted but I would like to replace it , it just doesnt get used but I can't make up my mind what to use instead yet

Theres little point using a Dervish stance when ranger stances are so good. Take one from the expertise line:

Either that or take another earth prayers enchantment to allow for +9 health regen:

There was no point in using the 4 exp stances you mentioned for the way I was running the build (H/H game) . Blocking would have been nice but I preferred the dual purpose of +armour for damage reduction and a backup +health for when I was enchant stripped .

Running an extra enchant just for the +9 regen was a waste , +6 was sufficient for anything I came up against and +3 from conviction got me by when I EDA was down/stripped.

I've played EDA ranger for a while. Here are some of my tips.

I wouldn't suggest mystic regen as the enchantments you use don't count as skill and will eat your energy like mad. Troll works better.

I would use Volley in areas such as AB, or Called Shot for a more precise hit. Crossfire works as well if you want that extra damage.

Lightning Reflexes is pretty useful, maybe more so than Whirling Defense as you want to spread the condition. Hopefully you will inflict blind before it runs out, which shouldn't be a problem.

If in PvP, I find Sin and Warrior have less condition removal compared to Ranger thanks to the common BA build that includes Mending Touch. However, the recharge for Mending is 6 seconds, I sure hope you don't fire that slowly. Here is where Called Shot and Crossfire shine.
